Rick Kinney, President

Kinney brings over 15 years of hands on entertainment industry experience to this event management team. Since graduating from The Recording Workshop School for Audio Engineering 2001, Kinney has worked with performing arts facilities, live concert venues, corporate meeting planners, tour management companies, local and national audio-visual companies, and convention centers throughout the country.

As an engineer, Kinney has been granted U.S. Secret Service clearance and managed sound systems for President Barack Obama, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Kinney prides himself on his ability to transform event ideas into a completed public performance or event. He is highly knowledgeable in lighting design, sound reinforcement, video system management, rigging, back-line management, over the road cross country equipment delivery, stage management, and radio/magazine/street level promotions.

In addition to founding Even Keel Event Productions and successfully balancing a career in the live event production world, Kinney has also earned a respected reputation as lead percussionist for the regionally recognized music group, Moser Woods.

Rick has produced, promoted, and managed successful large-scale concert events in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2010, EKEP partnered with Etix, the nation’s leading ticket distribution company. Kinney acquired The Clyde Theatre complex in May 2012. Since acquiring the complex Kinney has been working to fulfill his dream of improving his community by implementing the Clyde Theatre Renovation and Quimby Village Revitalization Plan.

From November 2012 to December 2014, Kinney served as Technical Director for the Historic Embassy Theatre, a position that offered him a unique hands on education in venue management, event planning/hosting, labor management and safety awareness. Kinney resigned from the Technical Director position in December 2014 with full support and blessing from Embassy Theatre management to pursue his new venture. He now focuses his full attention on managing the Clyde Theatre Renovation & Quimby Village Revitalization in Fort Wayne, IN.
